Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB SSD- an SSD with the “HyperX” branding after a very long time. The last Kingston HyperX series SSD was HyperX 3K. Other than that, Kingston have been releasing few V series SSDs here and there.
So, we should expect good ‘mainstream’ performance now that it comes with HyperX, or so we would like to think. Afterall, that’s the idea of having series within the branding to differentiate between the products. But many things changed. Those were the times practically every flash NAND centric brand that doesn’t make its own NAND or controller was slapping Sandforce SF-2281 controllers. In some cases, depending on certain solid-state drives, SATA III bandwidth is a bottleneck.
But what about the HyperX Fury?? 240GB is the not-so-new 120GB now. Bare minimum for a primary drive. Is the performance furious? Or is it furry?
